Homebound seniors get a well-rounded meal that helps them live independently in their homes and offers vitally important nutrition. CCS - Yuma’s Home-Delivered Meals program delivers three times a week. During each visit, our drivers check on the wellbeing of the seniors. Additionally, a well-check phone call will be made two times a week. Five meals are provided each week.
The program is designed for persons aged 60 or over (or spouse, regardless of age) and persons with disabilities* who are in greatest social and economic need, are at risk of not meeting their daily nutritional requirements, and:
- Are home bound and, according to an in-home assessment, have limitations in at least two activities of daily living such as preparation of meals, shopping for food or doing housework
- Have no other meal preparation assistance available to them.
*Very limited funding is available for individuals with disabilities, age-18-59.
