Seniors can get a hot meal, Monday through Friday, at one of the congregate meal sites. The meal program is designed to meet one-third of an older adult’s daily nutritional requirements. Along with the meal, seniors also visit with friends, play games, and take part in stimulating activities.
Congregate meals are for persons aged 60 and over (or spouses, regardless of age) who are in greatest social and economic need for meals and/or socialization.
All participants are given an opportunity to contribute towards the cost of the meal, and there is a suggested donation at each center.
Advance registration for the meals is required.
Persons with disabilities, aged 60 or over (or spouses, regardless of age) who are registered for Sun Van or Handicar may qualify for transportation to the senior center.
For more information on other Congregate Nutrition programs in the area and for a monthly menu, see www.PCOA.org
